Have you ever noticed that, if you are distracted and you are looking at the Post Office flagpole, and the wind comes up just a little bit and the flags stir, you could mistake the POW/MIA flag for the Jolly Roger?

Or is that just my brain?

I'm not making light of the POW/MIA flag, it's just that after that, I started to think about what the Jolly Roger would be doing flying at the Post Office, and under what circumstances one might find it there. Also, it indicates how prevalent the Jolly Roger has become in the last few years that that was the first thing that came to mind when I was looking but wasn't thinking about what I was looking at.

Dear lord, this Obama and his Blackberry thing is way out of hand. Could we have some actual NEWS, people, instead of "OMG Obama endorses Blackberry." --not that he endorsed it in the way they mean, he just says he doesn't want to give it up and relies on it every day (I love my stainless steel coffee cup, and I have said repeatedly that I wouldn't give it up, but that isn't a commercial endorsement, is it?). Nice to know that he's a Blackberry kind of guy, but does that mean that Blackberry has to advertise on the Obama-oriented Slate articles? Blackberry, stop being a shameless hussy!
