It's Mardi Gras! Happy Mardi Gras everybody. It must be that the first Sunday after the first full moon after the spring equinox is late this year, because I usually associate Mardi Gras with a February Tuesday.
Also, apparently we turn clocks ahead this weekend, and G and I were discussing the arbitrary nature of Daylight Savings Time. Then these two things got mushed together in my head, since they are both moveable feasts. The scheduling of DST, however, is much less tangible than Easter. What is it attached to exactly? Couldn't it be attached to some sequence of things, the way Easter is? Hmmm.
That said, DST is one of my least favorite inventions of the modern world.
