Thank god it only happens once a year
May. 7th, 2004 12:10 amAnother Beltane has been added to the annals. For three days my life was utterly ridiculous. Friday was crazy for most of the day in not a very good way, sad to say; G. and I came upon a bad car accident about a mile from home and almost immediately after it happened. I think I'd rather not write about it, after all; it was frightening to think that if we'd come along a minute earlier---. It also made me profoundly grateful to be still in one piece, and to have G. in one piece.
On Saturday morning, Tom, G. and I arose at 3 a.m. in order to be at the mountain by dawn (we made it), and we danced for hours that day.![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
t_ktl and Mani showed up from points distant, and we had a wonderful weekend-long visit while they partook of the May Day celebrations. Then I went home, G. was passed out exhausted, and I got ready to go back out again. It was worth it, though, my Mom and I went to meet Leonard Nimoy at a very small private function. I got to talk to him for a second, and I fell in love with him, just so you know.
Then on the way home, I almost hit a moose, so I got the opportunity to be exceedingly grateful to whomever deserves it for the second time in two days.
Sunday was more dancing, more socializing, more singing, well into the early evening, by which time everybody was exhausted (and I had one beer which totally crisped my brain), and I finally went home and went to bed. G. didn't go to anything on Sunday, because he didn't feel good until after lunch, poor babe. And that, my friends, is a typical Beltane. Except it rained on Sunday, so we didn't go naked swimming, rotten luck.
I have spent the whole rest of this week trying to not feel like everything is totally out of control and that the very fabric of my life has changed. But it has changed, in the normal Beltane-ish ways and in other, more subtle ways. It's ok, it's just making my head ssssssppppppiiiinnnnnnn.
