trying to look on the bright side
Nov. 4th, 2004 07:44 pmThere's a link here to something for us disappointed liberals. I haven't much to say about the election. Obviously, I'm upset about the outcome, but it doesn't make me want to roll over and play dead, so that's positive. Massachusetts voted more Dems into their state house, which is going to make it difficult for our dipshit Republican governor, Mitt I'm-doing-this-so-I-can-be-president Romney, to get much done with himself. That's positive. We didn't lose by much, really. Not everybody is buffaloed by this administration, so that's positive, I guess.
It's mind-boggling that so many people supposedly disagree with the war in Iraq, but voted for Bush anyway because of "moral values." This opinion, as it has been presented in the media, begs the question, "so you would rather the slaughter in Iraq continue in order to restrict your neighbors' lives?"
And as for the people who said they couldn't vote for Kerry because he was too liberal, well, let me tell you, as a resident of Massachusetts who has that man for a senator, that man is nowhere near liberal enough.
I could go on bitterly, but I think I'll save my energy for something more productive.
