spring, at bloody last
Apr. 6th, 2005 05:07 pmEven though we had a relatively mild winter, spring is late. I haven't heard any official reports, but I think we just had one of the shortest sugaring seasons of the last few years. Maybe Vermont did better, I don't know. It warmed up fast, when it did warm up. Usually I hear the spring peepers around the equinox, but there's been no sign of them yet this year, at least up my way. There are delicate crocuses making an appearance in the lawn, and yesterday I saw the first honeybees.
It's hard to be glum when the weather finally turns like this, and even though there are many circumstances that have made me less than cooperative with the Universe in the last few weeks, I'm starting to feel more confident about some of the decisions that I've made lately---choices that have truly shaken things up. Even though it's been painful, I'm now at least exploring the possibility of finding out how to use some of the skills I have learned over the last few years to get to the bottom of the situation. Essentially, finding where my power lies, rather than letting myself being buffeted by ill winds. :)
So, all in all, even though everything is still a swirl in a snow globe, I find myself a little more able to deal with it all. Whew. It's exhausting though.
