Making hay while the sun, er, shines

So, maybe you know how it is with hay. When it's ready, you cut it, bale it and get it someplace dry. And it doesn't matter what all else is happening in anybody's life; when the hay is ready, it's ready, and it's usually ready on the hottest day of the year when you already have something else, say, swimming, planned.
