OK, so I picked up this random cd from the library, because the name of the band was Ceili Rain, and I couldn't tell anything else about it. So, I'm here listening to it, and it's kind of Irish/Rock/Nashville, easy to listen to, kind of a bouncy beat, some pipes and accordions and electric guitars which I like, and I'm sorta bouncing my head around, and then I suddenly I notice it's all about, like, God and Christianity and stuff.

I don't know whether to feel awkward or not. It's not fundamentalist, but I'm not a huge fan of "Christian rock" on principle. Usually it tries too hard to be cool because it's not really devotional music, it's either trying to convert you, or provide an alternative for Christian teens. So, my argument with it isn't about Christianity, it's about real devotional music vs. rock proselytizing.

Ack. It is fun to listen to if you ignore the words.

Hlep!

This ) is kind of cool. Woe, I have no digital camera.

Now I am listening to "Old Blind Dogs." Whew. I think what I will do in future is listen to Ceili Rain and then listen to the Pogues right after. That should solve the problem nicely.

Ceili Rain: "See here we're all sinners--all just like myself
We're too busy praying for judging anyone else
We hold up our glasses--
they fill with your grace
We lift up our voices, we lift them in praise" (these are the best of the lyrics)
