No, you're not a bad parent. I did the same thing with O. when I was popping hard candies all the time (not something I normally do) to stave off the nausea, and O. would say "what are you eating?" and I'd say "Something for my throat," which was kind of true. He is too young to eat hard candies and could choke on them.

Ok, so your motivation is a little more selfish than not wanting to puke while driving, and your kid is older, but it's ok to have something that's just for yourself. Just try not to do it in front of him. Or get a local source and share. Or order bulk on the Internet???
