I just tried to post an entry and even though it said I was logged in, the system decided I wasn't. Grrrr. I'm trying again, but this will be a much shorter entry.

I just spent several hours cleaning off my desk at work so I can be off next week with a clear conscience. There isn't much returning to publishers in the first week in January, so I have some almost obligatory time off, but it's paid vacation and that counts for something. I like taking early January off, it's a good time to relax and think about my jewelry business and tie up a bunch of loose ends. There isn't much else happening so I can do some cleaning and maybe play with my kid or something radical like that. Alexis will be staying with me for a night or two next week, and we'll probably get up to some kind of trouble during the day, I imagine. It's my responsibility (freely undertaken) to bring her to the train station when she leaves, at some ungodly hour of the morning.

There may be a problem with my home computer misbehaving, so I will try to update my journal from home, but who knows how that will go. Bear with me, guys.

Also, a note to all those people I sent this link to today: if you post a comment at the end of an entry and you don't have an account, you will be anonymous. Perhaps this is the opportunity you've been waiting for, but if it ISN'T, feel free to sign your first name at the bottom of your post. :)

Now reading: A pre-read called _Q_ by Luther Blissett. Very interesting historical novel by four Italian writers using LB as a pen name. Won't be out till April.
