Jul. 29th, 2010 01:06 amI know it is completely lame to come on here and only post about Morris dancing yet again, but we just watched "Morris: A Life with Bells On" which is, if you can imagine, a "This is Spinal Tap" for Morris dancers. It was great! You should see it! Except, you can't, unless you go to England, or unless you have a DVD player that plays stuff in English format. Somebody on our team has the latter, so we were able to get together as a team tonight and watch it and it was absolutely as fun and charming as the trailer made it look. Definitely recommended.
Also recommended: Old Men in Love by Alasdair Gray, a Glaswegian. Although it has been out for a while in England, published by Bloomsbury, Small Beer Press apparently has released it in the U.S. in the last few weeks. Click through for reviews and stuff, because I am too tired to write one now, nor am I as witty as some of the reviewers listed on that page.
