Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.
Yup.
I'll be out until at least 1 a.m. tomorrow selling books to the horde. Should be fun. Getting up to go to craft fair the next morning is NOT going to be fun, however, and I just got a homeopath(et)ic constitutional remedy, so I am OFF COFFEE for SIX MONTHS. *shudder* And no more mint chocolate chip ice cream, either. :( Hopefully, the benefits of the remedy will outweigh the tragedy of NOT DRINKNG teh CoFFEE. They did last time.

H.P. and coffee
Date: 2005-07-15 01:34 pm (UTC)Last fall, when I was very concerned about my eyes, before I had my surgery, I went off coffee for about 2 months because it seemed as though there was some shred of evidence that it might help. I was amazed to find out how structural coffee was, of how structural it felt to go without it. It didn't make any difference to my eyes, though, and I went right back to it, joyfully. Although now I am brewing it half-decaf at home and not drinking it later in the day anymore, unless its a Cambridge evening. Keep up the good work!
I have been exchanging nostalgic e-mails with Fran because when the last Harry Potter went on sale she came over here when she got done selling on friday night and we read the first chapter (or 2) out loud to each other before we went to sleep. I'm going to visit some friends in Chatham (New York) this weekend and I've decided not to pick up my Harry Potter until sunday afternoon on my way home. (It was a big decision, believe it or not.) Mostly I realized that I have some esoteric reading I have to do over the weekend that I know I won't get to if I don't do it before I get my H.P. I'm always a bit surprised when I catch myself exercising self-control. Would that it were indicative of a trend.
Anyway--Have a good weekend--I hope you and dangerousbeans sell lots of stuff and have fun, and don't have any trouble staying awake when you're supposed to be awake. See you soon, xox :-)
