Let's try that meme that I was so taken with a few weeks ago:

Ten things that I've done that you probably haven't:

1. Been to Fastnacht in Basel, Switzerland

2. Watched the train pull out of the station in East Germany with my train ticket and visa aboard.

3. Been caught in flagrante delecto (in a place I wasn't supposed to be) when the fire engine pulled up right outside the building. Air brakes=Hsssss.

4. Accidentally seduced someone with Reiki. No, really, it was totally an accident.

5. Been to a NASCAR race with my Dad.

6. Translated Beowulf.

7. Climbed Mt. Katahdin, including over the Knife Edge.

8. Sang in "Thespis," a rarely done Gilbert & Sullivan show.

9. Camped out on Putney Mountain on May Eve to see the Putney Morris Men dance at dawn--every May Eve for 8 years.

10. Sold a piece of jewelry I made for $125.

HI Liz--That's a pretty good list--here's a start at mine--
1. Sang the St. Matthew Passion in Carnegie Hall
2. Been in flagrante delicto, without being caught, in three different ballrooms at the Waldorf Astoria
3. Been to a party at Stephen Sondheim's house
4. Heard Alberta Hunter perform four different times
5. Had a party thrown for me (and my husband) back stage at Lincoln Center in New York
6. Been a contestant on "To Tell the Truth" and had three out of four panelists vote for me
7. Was nearly suspended for performing John Cage's "Silence" as my required high school senior performance/presentation
8. Was backstage during the jazz concert at the opening ceremony at The Kennedy Center in Washington D.C.

I have to get going on my day, I'll owe you the other two items. Fun to think about--Love, Lynne

My list...
1. Restored a Model 1895 Mauser broomhandle pistol (which, coincidentally, was the same gun that George Lucas used for Han Solo's blaster in the original Star Wars movies) and a Model 94 Winchester lever action rifle with an octagonal barrel. (Is that one or two?)
2. Lost my plane ticket in France when I was 15 years old and almost got stuck there for the rest of my life.
3. Met Nick Rhodes and Simon Le Bon from Duran Duran. :) And got invited to go to the Museum of Fine Arts with Nick to see the Van Gogh exhibit (but couldn't go.)
4. Worked with the artist and former Smith student Sandy Skoglund repairing and installing 114 giant orange low-fire ceramic goldfish for the "revenge of the goldfish" part of the Reality Under Siege show at the Smith Art Museum.
5. Handled with mine own little hands pottery and glass objects from ancient Egypt, Syria and Crete, and ceramic plates and bowls made by Pablo Picasso while helping pack up all the art at the Smith Art Museum in preparation for renovations.
6. Was named a national merit scholar for scoring over 1400 on my PSAT in 10th grade. (For this honor I received one T-shirt)
7. Met Peter Murphy...he's taller than I expected. (I include this not because it sounds really cool or anything, but because it really means a lot to me.)

I'll have to get back to you on the other three. I KNOW I've done something else... :)

OMG, Lynne, those are so much cooler than mine!! I feel like I should make some kind of comment about the varieties of experience of the individual has that makes up the beauty of the Whole. *cough cough* But that would be just way too geeky to say. :)

I look forward to the other two!

It's not a contest, I'm a lot older than you are, and I think yours are extremely cool. And besides, I'm having trouble coming up with the other two.

OK, I'll bite.

Ok, I've thought of the other two, but there's no way I'm writing them down. Sorry--Lynne
